Evacu-cation!

Much fun was had in Huntsville, AL.  Hiking, rock climbing, parks, fish, ducks, ponds and lakes, swimming, Early Works children's museum, NASA space and rocket center, Kung Fu Panda, mountains, church in an awesome ward, and free free free!.  Movies on Demand was on the fritz in our hotel room (for about 1/2 a day) so we got coupons for free movies, reciprocal benefits from museums we are members of, and of course God's green earth, yippee for free!!  I will do my best to get pictures gone through, uploaded and posted soon, but all eyes are on Ike at the moment.

We got back today about 4:00 p.m. and I have many things to do to make sure I am ready if Ike decides to come our way.  I am not sure when I'll be able to do a proper post about it all.  So, for now, a shout out, and a promise that I will sit down with Sam and figure out how to get the computer switched to an external modem so I can blog in my spare time next time (what spare time?!)

We liked Huntsville so much that we are thinking of moving there upon retirement, which, after the silly business here, is looking more and more likely at 20 rather than later for us :)

It's funny what we 'find' when we aren't even looking.  My mom, in one of our 'calm Amy down' chats while all of the crazy was going on, said to me, "It's okay that all of these things keep falling through and you don't have a place to stay.  Your place isn't ready for you yet."  I took comfort in that thought and left it all up to Sam.  While he was checking out a few places, he just kept feeling good about Huntsville, so he made reservations and got us all set up with directions and times to the church building.  What a blessing it is to have a husband that makes an effort to make sure we are spiritually cared for as well as temporally.  The kids were so excited to go to church and it was just what I needed to top off my well.

Our life, though crazy and somewhat unbelievable at times, is greatest when we let go and ride with smiles on our faces, hands in the air, the wind rushing by, and take joy in knowing that the pits in our stomachs as we dip for a 'rough patch' are just temporary - but they are what make the ride!
