Home Away From Home in Huntsville, AL

I can not say enough good things about Embassy Inn & Suites.  They have a super military rate that makes it something we can afford and having two actual rooms with a door to separate is brilliant for naps and early risers :)

The highlight of our days was talking to Daddy or Grandma Fisher on the phone and there were a few minor injuries do to racing to answer.  It was all good fun and we were so grateful we purchased our emergency phones so we could chat with Daddy.

The grounds were amazing with a boardwalk lining a river that runs from a natural spring fed lake.  The river leads to an awesome waterfall that feeds into a creek running under a raised railroad track.  It was beautiful; we spent lots of time there, and at the adjoining park, feeding the ducks, geese, and fish.  The fish were so friendly they would jump right out of the water to get the bread.  It was great having so much to do right on the hotel grounds and across the street.  Good thing Daddy packed us three soccer balls :)

My camera battery died in the middle of our spacecamp museum trip so I missed a lot of pictures.   I wish I could have gotten some of the kids swimming.  They had so much fun in the pool and hot tub and Zack started swimming!  This is a huge feat for him as he just started putting his face in the water and going under about three weeks ago.  He got so comfortable and confidant that he was able to leave his floatie and swim from side to side.  Way to go Zackary!!

The breakfast is wonderful, cooked to order, with anything you can imagine omlets, and breakfast meats, with hashbrowns full of peppers, onions, and cheese.  Fruit, yogurt, pastries, cereal, various bread options, juices, and milk were the stars of the cold bar and the hot bar has french toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, oatmeal, grits, and biscuits and gravy.  The kids looked forward to it every morning and it was nice not to have to worry about breakfast.

What a fun time we had, and such great memories were made.  The kids are actually bummed that Ike is turning away from us towards Texas; they wanted another vacation!  We have been trying to let them know how blessed we are that our house didn't receive damage and that things went so well for us; they are kids and all they know is they had a great time :)

I always have the camera. There is one from a field trip a while back that I will post soon. I am getting caught up and Ike heading away is helping. There is one from Mardi Gras in February if you are just dying for it :)
