Malachi is up to one ounce of yummy milk every three hours now. The best part, he is definitely looking for more and he hasn't spit up a single drop; that is if he gets to burp for an hour or so afterward. Even when he started his 5 mls he needed extra burping time, just like all of our other kids. Hurray, he's a Lockhart in all gastric ways. It sure is wonderful to hear his noises as he is sucking down his bottle and loving every drop. I never knew how blessed a sound a burp could be. His feeding goal ... 90 mls! We'll see if we get there before surgery or not, but the main thing is he is eating, keping it down and looking for more. I tell you what it's the simple things in life, like eating and pooping, that are most impotant. The doctors are no longer concerned about a secondary problem and as long as we keep making slow but steady progress with feeding, Malachi will be having surgery on Wednesday at 7:30 a.m.
So a shout out to all our readers; have a good meal, burp loud and proud afterward and enjoy that trip to the bathroom! Seriously.
