Wisdom of Youth

Ellie:

"Mom what does rich mean?"

Mom:

"Most of the time it means having a lot of money.  But that's not really important."

Ellie:

"Yeah, it's just important to be kind to all the people around you."

Yep, she's that sweet and her dimples are delicious.  Don't tell her though cause she is not food and she doesn't like to be called names!  I get in real trouble when I call her my sweetie, or princess, or anything else for that matter.  Never mind the times I slip and tell her she is my delicious sweet peach, that's a double whammy right there ;)

Mom (from the girls bedroom):

"Jake, how are you coming on your room buddy?

Jake:

"I am almost done making Zackary's bed."

Mom:

"You do not need to make Zackary's bed Jakey."

Jake (super ultra mega excited):

"I know Mom but he said today was my lucky day and that because I am special I can make it any way I want."

Mom (biting tongue really hard):

"Okay buddy.  Are you having fun?"

Jake:

"Yeah Mom.  It's great to serve my brother."

He is such a sweetheart and would do anything for anybody.  Obviously Zack has learned how to take full advantage of that.  Ellie keeps him on his toes though so I guess it all works out in the wash eventually ...  Oh our Jake what we we do without your peaceful selfless demeanor?
