Boxcar Children are on the Case

It's amazing what my kids can do with some bricks, towels, and various things.  We are big fans of 'The Boxcar Children' series around here.  The boys read them and it's like there are on another planet, can't really reach them if you know what I mean.  They (Ellie included) enjoy getting up in the wee hours of the morning, much before the sun, and listening to books on CD. Boxcar Children is definitely a favorite.  It's actually quite frequent that they will have an entire book on CD finished by breakfast.  Little readers/listeners, so awesome.

So a couple of months back, as I inquired what the porch was and got a "Mom are you crazy" stare from everyone, I should have known.  Zackary, "It's our boxcar Mom.  Look here's our stove and this is my bed, I am Henry.  He is the oldest.  This is Jake's bed, he's Benny and that's Ellie's bed, she's Violet. We are about to chisel out the dinosaur skull that we unearthed, want to watch.  Jake, "Yeah Mom, will you make us lunch and bring it to our boxcar?"  Needless to say it was several days before I could convince them we needed to clean it up.  I think we even had a few showings mixed in, that must have been the reason the house didn't sell to those buyers.  Definitely not your typical porch furniture ...  I love my kids :)  Enjoy the random boxcar shots.
