Ellieism

It's true, I am apologizing to my kids far more often than I would like to be.  At least I am apologizing.  So in one of my finer moments this evening, as I am getting after Zackary for not keeping ooey gooey sticky Addie in her chair after Ellie's birthday cake and ice cream, while I am getting dinner (she wanted pb&j and I forgot to thaw the bread, tada reverse b-day dinner) I realize that I am acting as though he just put a dump truck load of dirt in the living room instead of that he just lost track of Addie.  Hmm someone else I know loses track of Addie on a very regular basis ... anyway, I apologized for my reaction and getting so upset over nothing and Ellie says, "It's okay Mommy.  The gospel just wants you to be a little bit nicer."  Oh how I love our Ellieisms, they keep me centered.

The ooey gooey isn't cleaned up yet (I like it to be nice and cured so I have to scrub extra hard) but we sure had a fun birthday dinner for our sweet princess, balloon war and all.  Have you ever seen a princess do ballet with her new pink flip flops on, in her new leotard, while attacking her brothers and fighting with balloons.  I tell ya she's going to be the next big thing in Vegas baby!  Oh I forgot, she was singing too, something about loving your family and being happy and cheerful while you smash birthday cake on the floor.  Ya just have to come live here for a while to really get it all.

The princess is 4 and already talking about 5, and 6, and 7, and 9 (she skips 8 because she's terrified of water and doesn't want anything to do with being baptized.  I assure her it's her choice and no one is going to just chuck her in the water, she's not convinced.  So she will not turn 8 in case you were wondering :)  ) Don't grow up too fast little one, you need to be around a long time so your mommy can get this mommy thing right!  Love you sweet peach.

Happy birthday Ellie! I had no idea, or I would have sung to her in Primary today.

Here's another Ellieism from today: Ellie's class had sharing time and it went...well, pretty much it went the whole time. Ellie was her little time reminder - very cute. Every time the bell rang (which was three times, about every 3 minutes towards the end), Ellie said, "only one more minute Sister B!!" It didn't really help though. Sister B didn't slow down one bit because of those bells, lol!
