And then she was two ...

I am really not sure what life would be without Addie.  She just adds that little extra spice that every family needs.  She did her favorite things today; dressed up "LOOK MOMMY PRETTY ADDIE!!", jumped on the trampoline "rump, rump, rump, yeah!", ate sugar "mummy" (yummy), played ball with her family, listened to Daddy's birthday song phone message about 50 times, talked on her brand new cell phone (okay they are actually play keys but who's really bothering with little details like that), rode the princess train driven with her new princess keys (after they were done being a phone) to her cake and ice cream feast, and had a bath.  She really is very easy to please, the simple things in life fill her with enough joy for us all.

Most people think that one headband is enough, not Addie!  She is an all or nothing kind of fashion diva (you can't see it in the picture but there is a black one on the back of her head) And no, I didn't do this to be funny, this was how she walked out of her room when I called for everyone to get shoes on and head to soccer games (at 7:30 a.m.).  She really did kiss her ball on her own, I just turned her towards me so I could get the picture.  She LOVES balls and princesses and kept running around saying, "Rella, Rora, ball, Addie's", with a big huge smile. For those unfamiliar with 2 year old princess talk that would be Cinderella and Aurora.  Don't rub your eyes or adjust your glasses, it is indeed her entire piece of cake on her fork and her whole scoop of ice cream, which she proudly proclaimed on both accounts, "Look Mommy! Yummy!"

Oh I forgot the best part.  Does her cake look small to you?  Here is a riddle.  How do you make cupcakes that look like cute little mini volcanoes, taste like rubber, and have a nice char on the bottom 1/4 inch? .......  Give up? .......  You innocently go about your business while they are baking, come back to awesome smells of strawberry cake mix baking, notice the odd shape, think to yourself, "Hmm I guess I over-filled them or something." notice that they look pretty done already and there are 7 minutes to go on the timer that was set for 5 minutes under the recommended baking time, notice some strange smoke coming from the oven and hope it's the cheese spill-over form tortilla pizzas for lunch the other day, test the strangely awesome smelling smoking pink volcanoes with a toothpick (don't ask, creature of habit, or stunned, or both), and finally, take them out quickly.  Then, and only then, do you see that _somehow_  the oven is on 500 degrees instead of the 350 degrees that you are positive you set it to.  So in her own little way she was able to put her stamp on everything about her birthday, volcano cupcakes and all.  Thank goodness I didn't have enough cupcake pans for all the batter and threw my two mini loaf pans in the mix.  I never new two little mini loaf pans could make such a fabulous two layered birthday cake :)  It served all four of them nicely and they are picking through the volcanoes today!

Happy birthday our little _somehow_.  Somehow it all still turns out okay and somehow we are all better for it.  We sure love you!
