The King and His Enchanted Forest. Just one of the many reasons we have the best Dad anywhere. Happy Father's Day greatest King. We love you!
Long long ago in a land far away there lived a farmer with a dairy farm. Said farmer decided one day that he'd peddle in Christmas trees too. He planted some seeds, watched them grow, and sold the farm, happily ever after of course, to our landlords. Many moons, princesses, and dragon slayings later, the 'Christmas trees' have made acres of their own enchanted woods, never to be chopped down. There are many a sprite and tree goblin making their happy homes in clearings, up in the trees, and over the rainbows.
Sam, being the greatest King and ruler ever to live, was bored while awaiting his family's safe passage over the river and through the woods from Louisiana, and thought, "Self, why don't I go out and climb some trees in the woods." While climbing, said king had marvelous visions of sugarplums dancing in his head, along with; sunsets at the beach, camping trips, canoe rides, trips to Nauvoo IL, Brewer's games, ice cream outings, tea parties with his princesses, fishing, and much, much more. The King, being a great and wise ruler, knows that it is good to work for things and desires to teach his children the same thing. "Aha!" He proclaimed, "I've got it."
The hunt was on for four different colors of ribbon and a trusty feather pen. Ribbon eluded him and the fancy feather pen made him sneeze, so he was forced to settle for colored duct tape (green, blue, purple, and pink, to be precise) and a sharpie. He climbed many a tree, some to the highest of highs and some to the lower of lows, and set many a 'ribbon' for his little ones to find.
Chomping at the bit, they raced into the woods to see what they could find. We have enjoyed some and have many more to find. Some are "impossibly high" according to the eldest prince, though his younger brother has already reached them. Then the pleading, "Can Jacob just get it for me?" The King's wise counsel, "If you want it badly enough you will get it." We shall see when fears are set aside and heights are reached. Addie, Ellie, and Jake have all claimed at least one and the joy is priceless to the Queen. Zackary has found quite a few but remains firmly planted on the ground :) What a fine King, raising some wonderful heirs to his throne.
So, you see, we have the best Dad anywhere.
