The other day as we were headed to Metarie for a production of Miracle on 34th Street with our homeschool group, the kids were not getting along and being wild; and being wildly mean to each other. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, they got quiet and all I could hear was Jacob reading. He read for the entire drive, about 45 min., and then picked right up again for the ride home. What a precious memory.
Now, as I write this, Sam is snuggled up with all but Addie (who is asleep!) reading The Hobbit. How cute it is to see them all and listen to little Ellie ask what a hobbit is and try to predict what might be coming next. It's made even sweeter when it's one of her brothers that gives the answer and Daddy can sit back and enjoy knowing his children are eating up what he has to share and to offer them. What a great Sunday activity.
Off to choir I go! Happy reading little family :)

I have cut myself off from going to book stores because I end up buying too many! I am constantly telling myself, you can get it at the library for free!!! It will be so fun when Reeslyn learns to read!
I had to run and find my copy of The Hobbit and it was fun feeling like I was listening right along with the kids, thanks for story time.
Awww, they're so cute. I love it when my kids read to each other too, its like a double whammy on the happy mommy scale.
Hi Amy,
I don't think I ever met you...you moved out of Newport right before we moved in. Briana (my SIL) told me to drop you a note and get some advice/help from you. My hubby Nathan (Jeremy's brother) is going back into the Navy and we are moving to the Chicago area. Briana thought that your hubby was from there and you guys might have some insight for us.
If you have a minute or two I would love to pick your brains. Maybe after all the craziness of the holidays are over, send me an e-mail and I'll reply back with some questions.

Thank you. :)
