The girls take ballet from a wonderful girl. They meet during the school year once a week in her home and have a splendid time. They dance and giggle with friends and it all culminates in a wonderful recital held at a local church. We all pitch in for a potluck feast and mingle for a while after the lovely performance. It is the perfect way for my girls to enjoy ballet. Perfect.
Did I mention the cost? It's FREE!
We do contribute a tid bit to the donation jar each week and give our share for an end of year gift, but she really does not charge a fee and the girls are welcome no matter if I have a few pennies to spare for the donation jar or not. She is such a blessing in our lives. The teacher, Frances (left), has her sister, Ellie, help as an assistant. They are both incredibly sweet and work so well with the girls. Of course my Ellie is tickled that she has a ballet teacher with the same name!
This year one of the moms organized a service opportunity for the girls. They collected money, along with the children at the church, to donate to a charitable organization that provides livestock and water for families in third world countries. They collected all year long and were able to make a generous contribution as their way of saying thank you for the use of the church building. It was a great way to serve and they really enjoyed helping out.
