Life Is Messy Pancakes

So last Saturday was one of those days.  Everyone is STARVING (I'd like to send them all to a third world country where they could actually get a true picture of starvation.  I tell them this all the time, but they just don't get it).  I digress.  So, everyone is starving, to death even.  My food maker button is broken and I am not too interested in fixing it.  Suddenly, (do you want the truth or a good story? - truth - after much whining from the Queen), my knight in shining armor rides in on his white horse and says, "I'll make pancakes."  Hooray for the knight!

He conquered the starving beasts singlehandedly whilst I sat on my behind typing away.  It was a much needed break for sanity, and I was busy gaining some peace, serenity, and let's be honest, mental quiet!  Fed, happy, and willing to be on their merry way, the little subjects fled the castle and there was actual quiet.  What a thing it was to behold.

Guess what I did?  I said, "Thank you, but do you see all the mess there is now?"  What?  Yikes!  I apologized immediately, but (there's that but again) the damage was done.  Who does that?  Thank you good knight for saving my life.  I really appreciate it, but look at this huge mess you made.  Maybe that damsel in distress should be made to save her own life a little more often so she can remember to be grateful first and leave the buts where they belong; behind (that's right, I said it).

Life is messy.  Pancakes are yummy.  Go make some, and just say thank you.
