Poopless

There was no poop and hasn't been any poop, to speak highly of anyway, since yesterday at 3:30. Remember the photographic opportunity? Well apparently I should have documented said poop.

There has been an especially uncomfortable baby that does not appreciate the fact that we are not taking care of this for him anymore. He is not happy. Unless, of course, his siblings entertain him. That takes his mind off of everything. Blast! They get all the fun.

We get to pleasure him with painful diaper changes that should be a whole lot more productive as far as relieving his bowels go, but are pretty much just torture. We get to restrict his eating just enough so he's not over full and throwing up so we can all be certain that he's throwing up because of surgery related issues, if that should happen. We get to try and help him sleep even though he's so uncomfortable he doesn't want to. Every so blessedly often we get a smile, usually after we have managed to hep him wriggle some gas out. At least he has his siblings to light up his life.

We are adding karo syrup in deliciously sweet amounts to his bottle, per Dr. Aiken. The extra sugar will be sending party invitations to all such Hydrogen that has hooked up with some Oxygen friends: destination colon - secret mission wash that stool right outta those pipes! We'll keep you posted, quite possibly with a picture. You have been warned.

Said baby beckons. Ta ta for now.

Oh, Amy, I thought his being home meant he was pooping on his own. We feel so badly for baby Malachi...that poor little boy. So glad the siblings can temporarily take his mind off his troubles. I'm confused. I thought the surgery was going to fix this...so sorry that you all have to continue to go through such a difficult time! I sure do appreciate the updates, and will continue to have you all in our prayers!!!!
