There is a quaint little (okay its big) farm and horse ranch not far from us. Sam found out this year that they have an annual celebration to honor active duty service members. It was fantastic! They have a barbecue and a 30-45 minute horse ride with their professional staff as guides. For Free!
The children had an absolute blast, even those (Zackary and Addie) that were initially terrified to get on a horse. The staff was able to gently teach and reassure so that even the most frightened (Addie) felt comfortable and had the time of their life! Ellie was most exuberant and is saving up her money to be able go on an hour long ride. Addie and Jacob are joining her.
Zackary had the slowest horse ever. As Sam said, "Andy's so slow he'll be late for his birthday and live forever." He had to kick him countless times to try and encourage him to go faster. Not that it helped. Hmm, constant prodding with little to no result. That there horse sounds a bit like his master. Whoops! Did I just say that ;)
Good times thanks to those who appreciate and serve the military families working hard for our country.
