Yes he actually went down
child services hasn't been here yet ...
No, it can't be. I can not possibly be old enough to have a CHILD with grey hair!! Okay, it was only one, but he's 6 YEARS OLD! What in the world is possibly so awful that my precious little Jake has grey hair? Well that's pretty easy to answer, but he doesn't know much of the world. And then there is the fact that grey hair doesn't actually come from worry (or maybe it does, where is the scientific data?) BUT anyway ... genetics play a big role and he was lucky enough to receive Sam's hairline. Jake's hair still hasn't filled in where Sam's started receding when he was 15. Sam announces from the other room, with a tinge of sadness, "I was never able to feather my hair quite like the other boys." [Yes it's funny and you should be laughing] He started going grey in his 20's.
I guess my cute little Jakey Boo is destined to a life of non-feathered dos and early grey. But still 6? Ah well, hopefully the 70's stay where they are and he can avoid the fabulous feathered dos of the past. As for the grey, well I won't be plucking them out anymore, he got my extremely thin hair so the poor guy needs every last one he can get. He could have gotten Sam's thick hair and my hairline, where is that combo and why haven't any of my children gotten it yet?!
And yes, it was a bona fide grey, plucked and inspected right in the middle of Fleet Farm last night. I thought about saving it, kind of like the first haircut swatch (which I didn't actually get - I am a horrible mom) but that seemed cruel somehow.
Maybe it's all that reading he does ... does reading beyond your years make you older than you are? Interesting. I guess it hardly matters, just look at that face, those eyes, that smile; scrumptious!
