What do you do when ...

*It's 4:00 a.m., your 5 year old is in bed with you and your 7 year old comes in?
Make room (Daddy grumbles)
*Your 7 year old tells you he's freezing?
Daddy goes to turn the heat up
*You realize that Daddy has been gone awhile, it's pretty cold, and you haven't heard the heat come on?
You go investigate
*You see your husband messing with breakers, the cover is off the heater, and the thermostat says 50 degrees?
You say to yourself, "Sure, this is absolutely what would happen the night before the realtor is coming at 9:00 a.m. to get pictures and list the house."
*You realize that wondering what else could happen before your husband leaves on Sunday is not making you any warmer?
You say, "Duh! I have freezing children!"  Then you run around gathering blankets and cover them all up and hope they can dig themselves out.
*You can't find the business number for the awesomely wonderful and honest air conditioning and heating guy in your ward (church congregation)?
You search and search and put your best investigative powers together and eventually, an hour later, you get it figured out.
*You hear the awesomely wonderful and honest air conditioning and heating guys business hours?
Cry and think if you have more blankets.
*The phone rings seconds after you hang up and before you can feel too bad for yourself?
Get a big smile and realize that he really his awesome and wonderful
*You have been up for a couple of hours, your kids will be up very soon, and you are freezing, tired, and not so happy about being awake?
Blog
*You have to pee but don't want to move for fear of the cold air about to rush past you and you certainly don't want to sit on the toilet seat?
Blog some more and hope to forget about it

Yep folks who'd uh thunk we'd ever freeze here in LA, but when you add record lows to no heat, that gets a bit chilly for those of us sleeping in shorts with a light blanket.  Angie, Sixta, Jessica, and Brianne I did consider calling one of you for Bro. Watton's number, you know the emergent side of things.  I decided 4:30 a.m. was not a friendly hour.  Does that get me some brownie points or something?  :)  It's getting colder by the minute, I'll go make hot cocoa to warm the kiddos when they wake up.  Hey, it's 6:00, Addie is up by 5:30 and Zack is up by then or earlier ... maybe they are hibernating with the cold temperatures! Off to the hot water kettle I go.

things alway go wrong at the worst times - in the middle of the night (or morning) and OF COURSE, just before the realtor shows up. Murphy's Law.

I never thought I'd have to wear a winter coat, hat, gloves, ... its been in the 20's here at night for the last couple of nights - we are in the South, something's wrong with this picture.

Girl, you should have called! You should have come over! You still can.
It's going to be even colder tonight, I sure hope they can get you up and running. If not, you can camp out on our floor!
Gosh, you guys are just having all the luck. I'm sorry!

Thanks Angie, maybe we'll come camp out for fun anyway :) It sure would be easier to keep my house ready for showings if we lived at somebody else's until we get a viable offer!
