An Update

I guess I haven't been doing my due diligence here ... what can I say.

For starters, Sam is currently in his last semester, employed by the university as a student instructor for calculus, maintains his position on the Dean's List, recently passed his second actuary exam. He is now officially employable in his field, super awesome. But frustrating, as he says, "Where am I supposed to find the time to get a job?" He is slammed with school but really feeling the itch to be done and secure a job. It'll all work out but we are a bit on the impatient side. It's been a long, tough road.

For seconds, the children are happy and well, diligent students and enjoying learning. Our pianists have regular opportunities to use their talents to bless the lives of others in church service accompanying meetings as well as playing at the Care Center in our neighborhood, although talking with the residents afterward is their favorite part. Opportunities to accompany string instruments and vocalists also come their way. They enjoy performing vocally together as well with Zackary as the accompanist. Addie is our soloist extraordinaire and has her way with any melody she hears. It's quite lovely to hear her make things her own.

For lasts, we are just really ready to move on to the next phase of life. Having Daddy back will be a significant improvement!

His 50th birthday hat made by Jacob! He had a final on his birthday, yuck! I guess that's what happens when your birthday falls smack in the middle of finals week. We made him a candy gram and saw him for long enough to eat some carrot cake with him. He devoured the candy while he studied away for his finals and actuary exam, as well as keeping up with a business 300 course over the winter semester. Let's just say that cramming a 300 level course into winter semester is enough to kick anyone's behind to the moon and back. We almost forgot what he looked like, and then, as soon as it was all over, there was a 1/2 day break between all that and spring semester.

We miss him and can't wait to get him back!
