The Hill

When Sam was secretly looking for a lot and plotting against me in the quest to build a new home, he found our little spot of earth. His selling point was, "It's got a great sledding hill." I was not convinced overall but it was hard to fight with the thought that sledding could happen anytime, everyday, without a trip, or assistance in any way really. Okay, the occasional fixing of the snow pants and assistance with the tricky glove, but you get the point; no loading up the crew and planning to be gone for hours of fun. At that time we didn't know about the Malachi factor that would be born into our lives. The hill has even more appeal now for sure!

So, the hill has been a great thing in our lives and has brought much enjoyment. Whether they are creating an original slip 'n' slide, racing bikes and scooters down in attempt at breaking a limb or two, sledding with wild abandon (sometimes called human bowling), or taking it back to the good old days and rolling down, yep, no matter the activity the hill is our friend. It also attracts friends and neighbors which isn't so bad either.

Incidentally, this was Malachi's first taste of Cheerios or any real food. We could not get him out of the stroller or get the cup of goodness away from him for anything. It was a meltdown to beat all when we finally had to just do it. Thankfully it was a good colon day and the experiment was a success! We love Cheerios.
