And then there was music ...

So the children are learning a great song in Primary this month. It's about being a builder of families and the strength and support they are, and can be. They love it and it has a very catchy and somewhat addicting rhythm and tune. I am sure I could hyperlink you somehow and you could enjoy the song, but I don't feel like taking the time to figure it out :) So here is the first little part; I am a builder working each day to build my family, just to wet your whistle.

It is quite common for all of my children to use melodies of songs and put new words to them thus creating their own little masterpieces. It's fun for all and they come up with some great stuff. I am always interested to hear what they do with a song as it is generally a little window into their worlds and I love being able to peek for a moment. Well, most of the time anyway ...

The other day Ellie is on time out and this is what is coming from the garage/laundry room hallway, "Mommy is stupid, Mommy is stupid, Mommy is stu u pid" Who knew such a phrase could fit perfectly into a song about building families. In case you are curious the words fit through to the end, and yes indeed, she carried right on through, over and over and over and over again. Unfortunately now, that is all I have running through my head when I hear that melody. Hopefully she sings the real words and not her version for the program ...

What a wonderful musician you have building new words to the old tunes.
I remember you singing songs to your brothers too and they were a riot. In fact, I just watched a video of you singing when you were about 11, it was soooooo cute, and very on key.
Love you tons Amy.........thinking of you lots.
Love~Mom
Give hugs and kisses to all my grandkids, singing or not......
