Our own little piece of nature. The best part was getting to watch all the stages because the mother and father bird built the nest in one of our front bushes. I was suspicious one day when I saw birds frequenting the bush. Sure enough a closer look found a partial nest. A couple days later the nest was complete and then one day, like magic, tiny little eggs. I thought to check a couple of days ago, to see how things were going, and was so sad to find all the eggs gone and just a dark empty nest. I rustled some leaves accidentally and up popped four little beaks wide open and ready for a belly full. I was so excited I almost fell right into the nest! Try as I might I couldn't get a picture of all four with open beaks but these are fun. This morning we got to watch the mother and father in their specific ritual of feeding time it was so amazing. The father would fly in with a mouth of food and perch on our mailbox post. The mother would then exit the nest and fly to the tree across the street and wait. As soon as the father would enter the nest to feed the babies the mother would fly off in search of food and they would repeat in reverse order when she was back with food. Enjoy, we sure have.

That's awesome, Amy! I'm still not so sure Ashlyn really saw those eggs, but thanks for trying to show them to her. I'll have to show her these pictures in the morning, she'll love it.
What wonderful updates! You really have such a darling family. I especially love these little birds! Being able to watch that whole process sounds like heaven on earth for kids!
how fun!
What cute pictures! We have a nest in our yard but it's so high we'd need a big ladder to peek inside. Your kids must be loving that.
Great pictures of the eggs and birds! My kids would love that. Your kiddies are so cute! About the music on my blog, go all the way to the bottom of the page and you'll see the playlist.
So what's happening for you guys now? Are you moving on to a new place?
