We are broken you know.
Seriously disappointing; I forgot to pack the camera battery charger. I managed to coax a bit of juice out of the thing and got a few pictures early in the week, but they do not do this wonderful place justice.
We were fed; no cooking or cleaning for a solid week!! We recreated on the water in many a craft. We (mostly the girls) crafted in the craft cabin. Okay, really, they almost lived there. The boys did a little crafting as well and I got wonderful handmade Mother's Day gifts: Embossed leather, sand art, cleaver decodable cards, jewelry, paintings. They presented them to me as we drove away (Mother's Day was our last day there) and I couldn't help but think that it was the best Mother's Day yet.
The rec hall was well equipped; ping pong, pool, library, game room, exercise equipment, and a Wii.
Hiking, campfires, fishing, boating, family movie night in the lounge with a big screen, and even some snow. Field trips to: the logging museum, a vitamin company, and a wildlife rehabilitation and refuge complete with a real eagle nest! New friends. We had it all. We, the Zackary we, even got to break his first bone.
Fun times. Memorable times. Just us, all of us, times. Yum.
With recreation steps out of our door, Malachi was able to participate on occasion and still
get exactly what he needed to stay healthy. Supremely wonderful for all!
Please do not mistake this for a paddle boat, it is not. It is a rocket ship.
Should you forget this pertinent information, Malachi will gladly, and adamantly, remind you.
Also, please do not mistake the life jacket looking thingy for a life jacket.
It is a rocket ship suit. Again, if you need a reminder he's happy to oblige.
There was still ice covering 3/4 of the lake upon our arrival. It quickly retreated due to warm temperatures (and our amazing mind powers) and we were able to frolic at will.
My Addie and me.
water + children = endless exploration
The chipmunk whisperer. They ate from your hand and were our little pets.
Zackary was especially diligent. He was also ever patient as Malachi seemed to rush in just as
Mr. Chipmunk was convinced he would not be eaten for supper.
Leaving peanuts for the squirrels and muskrat.
Golf cart rides with Niki were a favorite!
paint + objects + Ellie = That Smile
The paddle pontoon boat was a leisurely way to explore the lake and
get a good leg workout!
Land Ho!
Can anyone give me a hand here. This rocket ship doesn't go anywhere on land.
A little push, please. Please. Pleeeeeeease?
The pontoon boat was the "super fast" rocket ship and was
a favorite of this outdoor enthusiast.
Sam got special permission to pilot the pontoon due to just a smidgin of experience.
Jacob especially enjoyed the fish finder and calling out depths.
I think getting to drive was his favorite.
Good friends, a fire, marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate.
What more does one need to be truly happy?
Getting to watch the eagles was a special treat. We were so close to this one we could
see it checking us out and deciding whether to take off or allow us to marvel some more.
The otter was fun too but we didn't get a picture of it!

What bone did Zackary break? I hope he's okay.
His left index finger. It was pretty traumatic and looked more like the tip was ripped off rather than broken, but he was a trooper and is back to playing both hands on the piano.
Thanks!
