Apparently ...

I have an AWESOME womb. The cute little cyber-baby that continues to move past 40 weeks on our pregnancy ticker has not been forgotten about because there is an actual baby taking up our real time. Nope, nothing to report here folks. As far as it seems this baby will be born when it's ready to go off to college (if I'm lucky!)

I don't know why I am surprised, seeing as how this has happened the last three times I have given birth. Oh wait, I know why; bed rest because of early labor. Yep, I was silly and deep down my hopes were up for thinking I might actually get an early or at least on time birth for this little peanut. Not so. Here's to waiting; and just in case you are wondering, it's not passive waiting. We are doing everything we know to get this party started, apparently we don't know the right things. Sam's newest idea; a bounce house. I'll let you know if we get that desperate and you can all show up with your video cameras.

In other Lockhart news; our sweet dog-cat Bobby has gone to heaven to wait for us there. He got sick suddenly and after a few days we could tell he needed to see the vet. We thought we had the problem solved with some medication. He started eating and perked up enough to walk around and want to be outside and then he crashed again. When we took him back to the vet she detected a tumor in his belly that was growing rapidly, it was just a matter of time. She gave him some fluids and a steroid shot to make his last days comfortable and we took him home.

We built him a cozy cat cave to try and help him stay warm and feel safe. The children all wanted their picture taken with him to put in a frame. We gave him lots of love, soft warm food (that he never ate), and did our best to let him know how grateful we were to have such a wonderful loving cat for 9 years. Zackary was especially helpful and courageous. Sam was gone on ice inspections and Bobby needed to be carried to and from places (sometimes covered in cat pee) and he stepped up to help him out without question. Bobby was very frail and even without the grossness of things it was a strange experience to handle him in that skin and bones state. He was my hero and I was so proud to see him taking such good care of Bobby. Thanks my Zack.

It was hard, but we are most grateful that he never suffered and cried out in pain. He just slept in his cozy places and twitched his tail for us so we would pet him long and often. He died comfortably in his sleep where he wanted to be. And best of all we are so glad he got to have so much fun living on this great piece of farmland with lots of places to roam, things to chase and kill, and places to hide. He had a great life here and we enjoy knowing how much he loved it.

Goodbye Bobby we love you!

And in yet other Lockhart news; our hole is going to be dug in just a couple of days. I never knew how exciting it could be to have a hole dug before! We are so excited to show up in the early morning with our box full of gloriously deep fried dough covered in sugar (aka doughnuts) and watch the big machines make room for our house. Yay for us!!
